I spent Friday night in Silver Lake, Los Angeles with my pals Sean, Thuan and Carl. God, we ate a lot of freakin' fries that night which, although sat on me for a few days after, definitely complemented the tart ciders and hoppy beers we drank in abundance throughout that evening.
Every weekend in summer, the Silver Lake neighborhood puts on a Night Market that showcases a variety of eclectic vintage and hipster vendors. We spent nearly forever at Tod's Camera Stop that offers an incredible collection of Super 8 film cameras, repeater filters for analog and, a favorite, loads of expired film. Carl ended up buying a repeater filter, over which we all later fought for the chance to use and play with it. I especially liked the fashion sense of this neighborhood; everyone was wearing bold lips with minimalistic and flowy materials and chunky sandals with gold accent earrings. Definitely a source of inspiration for the style savvy.
